Whether you are new to cruising or one of our many long established customers, you will find many useful tips on all aspects of boat craft by viewing these interactive tutorials. 

A cruising holiday is not only great fun but a wonderful adventure and well within the capability of most people. However, for the safety of you, and your crew it is a condition of hire that you undertake instruction in the theory of boat craft prior to boarding your cruiser on the first day of your holiday.  

Once you board your cruiser you will be given a further period of hands-on tuition by a trained member of staff who will accompany you until you feel totally confident in your ability to Captain your craft. 

We know from experience that our customers just can’t wait to complete their period of instruction before taking the helm. To assist you through this process we have made our training material available online so that you, and your crew can complete the theoretical instruction prior to your arrival at our Marina.  

It will take you approximately one hour to complete the ten interactive tutorials on this page but could save you up to three hours on the first day of your holiday. At the end of each tutorial you will find an interactive quiz which will not only help you assess your understanding, but will confirm to Carrickcraft that you have successfully completed the topic.  

Please ensure that you print off the results at the end of each quiz and present these at check-in on arrival. Customers unable to provide this documentary evidence of competency will be able to join one of the regular classroom training sessions held at each of our Marina’s.
